More sonnetry. I feel I'm getting better. I can focus less on the meter and structure, and start working in more conceits, etc. Into my writing. Fun stuff.

Once without passion, I sought mine duty
Through long nights and roads, purposely lost
Until my eyes did rest upon thine beauty,
My heart did then skip, yet so small a cost
To find my flesh enamored, to find my mean,
To Rest in subtle fire that is thy gaze,
To hear thy voice, such words with silver sheen,
My soul hath found an exit to my maze,
The path was long and wearisome, the end
was true and straight. Want'n love was mine desire,
For thee I tame it, virtue shall not bend
like shattered path. I live to serve thy fire.
Better to see with eyes and be inspired
Thy pave thine road with such craven desires.

...and then some haiku. They are fun and easy to write.

I tried out today...
The director was silent:
I ripped my script up.

I was so excited,
On stage I forgot my lines.
I cried in the hall.

Bloody ocher organ;
Muscle pulsing in smooth beat;
The symbol of love.

Upon the floor I found...
I had asked her to be mine;
That card had made her.

Does she dream of me?
Want me to hold her so close?
I forget she's dead...
